SecAware ISMS Take-off is a ‘toolkit’, a substantial bundle of documentation supporting the establishment of an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System. The Take-off materials are primarily intended for managers. An ISO27k ISMS is, after all, a management system.
These are generic templates (Microsoft Office files) for various discretionary or optional materials, supplementing and extending SecAware ISMS Launchpad which provides the bare minimum mandatory documentation absolutely required from all organizations to claim conformity with the standard, and the optional security specialist materials in SecAware ISMS Orbit.
As with the ISO27k standards themselves, these are general-purpose templates, written to suit a wide variety of organisations. Drawing upon our knowledge of the standards plus decades of professional experience in the field, the materials embody generally-accepted good security practices with commonplace information security controls and methods/approaches.
However, we urge you to customise the SecAware templates according to your specific circumstances and needs – your organisation, its business context, size, maturity, markets, relevant internal and external issues, business and IT strategies etc. Feel free to adapt the writing style, terminology and emphasis to reflect your corporate norms. Cite the relevant contact people, departments, policies and procedures etc. Be sure to reflect all applicable legal, regulatory or contractual compliance obligations e.g. the disciplinary process and leaver checklist must not conflict with employment laws etc. (seek the advice of HR and other competent professional advisors).
Take-off supplements and enhances the materials built-in to your off-the-shelf or homebrewed ISMS IT system. Does yours even have any content aimed at the management audience, or is it purely about ISO/IEC 27001 conformity and IT/cyber security? Information risk and security is a business issue!
